COVID19 measures regarding travel from South Africa to Turkey

Pretorya Büyükelçiliği 29.06.2021

Kindly be informed that the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Turkey as of 1 July 2021 against the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus are as follows:

All passenger flights from South Africa to Turkey have been suspended until further notice. Only transit passengers are allowed on the direct flights. Passengers may travel to Turkey from South Africa with stopover in a third country.

All passengers above 6 years old are required to present negative PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to their flight, on arrival. Transit passengers are required to submit PCR test results only if PCR test is required by the final destination port.

For all passengers (regardless of the nationality and vaccination status) who have been to South Africa 14 days prior to their travel, 14 days of quarantine at a facility determined by the Governorate in the port of entry is compulsory. The quarantine fee will be determined by the same Governorate. The passengers will be tested on the 14th day and released from quarantine centre if the result comes negative. If the result is positive or symptoms are observed, the passenger will be isolated 14 days from the date of the positive resulted test. On the 14th day of isolation PCR test will be conducted and the isolation will end if the result comes negative. Medical treatment will be provided in line with the COVID19 regulations by the Turkish Ministry of Health during the isolation.

All passengers who will enter Turkey are required to fill out the online form on the following website: http://register.health.gov.tr
. The form is required to be filled within 72 hours before the departure of the flight and will be checked through printed version or mobile devices by the airline officers. (Transit passengers are not required to fill out the form.)
