1. I’m a South Africanpassportholder. How can I applyfor a Turkish visa?

South African ordinary passport holders are eligible for an e-visafor their tourism or businessvisits. Use only the official portal « www.evisa.gov.tr» for e-visa applicationsand beware of fraudulent websites. Pleasecheck your e-visa for the validity period, number of entries allowed and stay limits.

E-visas carry a unique barcode. Your details must match your passport exactly; otherwise, your e-visa will be invalid and you must reapply through the portal.

For yourtravels of 31–90 days, plase visit www.visa.gov.tr and follow the procedure on said website to start your sticker visa application process.

2. How do other nationalities apply for a Turkish visa?

Visa requirements depend on nationality and passport type. Please check your options at:www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa

For sticker visas, complete the pre-application at www.visa.gov.tr and make an appointment with the Embassy through the same website. The applicants who reside in Western, Eastern, or Northern Cape provinces must apply to the Turkish Consulate General in Cape Town.

Eswatini and Lesotho nationals may also apply in Pretoria. Other foreign nationals must provide a valid South African residence permit or long-term visa for South Africa.

3. Do South Africans need an airport transit visa?

Provided that they remain in the airport’s international transit area, South Africans do not need an airport transit visa.
